CalFresh Outreach Director Amanda Schultz Provides Leadership at Alliance to Transform CalFresh Meeting

On Tuesday, May 5th, CalFresh Outreach Director Amanda Schultz presented at the Alliance to Transform CalFresh meeting to advocates across the state on innovative data-driven solutions the Hunger Coalition has helped implement in San Diego County to improve access and utilization. For example, Amanda shared strategies that SDHC has developed to identify and track issues preventing otherwise eligible residents from receiving CalFresh. The goal of the presentation was to empower organizations across the state find the best way of improving CalFresh participation in their counties.

The Hunger Coalition is an active member of the Alliance to Transform CalFresh, whose goal is to increase CalFresh participation across the state to 75% by the end of 2016.  For more information about the Alliance and their CalFresh outreach efforts, please visit their website: www.cafoodbanks.org/calfresh-food-stamps-outreach.
