The San Diego Hunger Coalition Currently has three intern positions open. All applicants must be able to receive academic credit for the internship as these are unpaid positions.
Advocacy Internship (spring 2019) - This intern will gain hands-on experience in policy research, non-profit policy & advocacy work at the grassroots and state level, and will assist with coordination of advocacy efforts for the Hunger Advocacy Network. The ideal candidate is interested in advocacy, a quick learner, able to multitask, and is comfortable working independently and as a team.
Communications Internship (spring 2019) - This intern will support communications, marketing, and story collection efforts. The position is designed for a creative, energetic individual who is passionate about using communications to help people. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with both traditional and online communications platforms, has excellent verbal and written skills, and has graphic design experience or an artistic eye.
Food Insecurity Data Internship (spring 2019) - We’re looking for an intern who can support our Food Insecurity database development, testing, and troubleshooting. In addition, we are looking to build our capacity for creating interactive data visualizations and GIS maps. The position is designed for a creative, driven individual who is passionate about using data to help people and create a more equitable San Diego County.
