Want to curb hunger locally? You can help

 We’ve all missed a meal or run late for dinner and thought we knew what it felt like to be hungry. But in the end, we got our food and moved on.

As we find ourselves in September, which marks National Hunger Action Month, we reflect on a Union-Tribune story a week ago by Janine Zuniga, which highlighted the true hunger crisis (“More in county seeking donated food,” Aug. 28). It cited the San Diego Food Bank’s record 2010 food distribution numbers – the most in its 33-year history. Read the entire story.
