OCEANSIDE: Foundation looks at city's hunger problem

The Oceanside Charitable Foundation hosted a forum Wednesday at MiraCosta College to inform people that problems with access to food exist everywhere, even within their own backyard.
"People used to associate hunger with homelessness," said Blake Kern, grant chairwoman for the Oceanside Charitable Foundation. "Now we're talking families, seniors -- anyone, really. "We are helping the community with awareness of what is going on," she said. "Hunger has become very pervasive everywhere."
